HOW TO SIZE YOUR DOGS COLLAR.

STANDARD COLLARS.

Our collars are measured from the buckle to the end of the leather, the full length of the collar.

To get the correct size for your dog there are two options.

Either measure the collar the dog is currently wearing, from the buckle end to the hole it is worn on and add four inches.

Or you can also measure the dog’s neck and again add four inches.

The tape measure just needs to be loosely around the dog’s neck, not to tight.

So if your dog’s neck measurement is 20” you will order a 24” collar.

HALF CHECKS, SLIP COLLARS

(including hound collars styles)

When measuring your dog for one of these collars you must bear in mind that it must go over the dog’s head.

In most cases the widest part of the dog’s head is as the collar passes over the ears. This measurement is usually greater than the neck measurement but in some breeds such as Staffordshire bull terriers and Greyhounds the neck measurement can be greater so if this is the case order the bigger size.

If you are ordering a sheepskin lined slip collar then add an extra inch to allow for the sheepskin.
